Quincy blatantly ignored the fact that it was past curfew, she was a prefect, as was proclaimed by her flawlessly neat uniform, badge pinned squarely above her right breast and polished to a brilliant shine. Never one to admit that she had any problems whatsoever, Quincy refused to acknowledge that she had become something of an insomniac of late. But she liked the night, it was comfortably quiet, there weren't as many people around to bother her. Normally she might keep to the common room and read or get ahead in her studies, tonight Quincy had been unable to focus on them, and instead had gotten dressed and gone to roam the halls.
She tried not to dwell on the fact that her impeccable concentration was for whatever reason compromised, though Quincy did find it somewhat troubling. She never had trouble doing her school work. At any rate, it was probably good for her to stretch her legs some, perhaps physical exercise might in turn tire her mind so she could get some sleep, but she presently felt wide awake. Quincy's feet, seemingly of their own accord, brought her to the very spot on the staircases where over a year ago she had held her dying brother. He had been a first year, a Ravenclaw just like her, and she hadn't been able to save him. God, there had been so much blood...
Quincy had been drenched in red, and in that moment, she hadn't cared. She'd simply sat on the very stair which she was now standing, holding tightly to her brother as the battle around her had wound down. Quincy had been paralyzed there for hours until people came through to collect the dead. Aidan had been wrenched from her arms, and only as she was separated from his corpse did she cry- she had broken down into hysterics, and had needed to be sedated. She'd woken up a few hours later in a quiet room, she'd been cleaned up, but had spent thirty minutes washing her hands to get rid of the blood that only she could see, she'd scrubbed until her skin was raw...
Quincy did not look fondly on these memories, they were still painful, but she was better now. As long as everything was in its proper place she was perfectly content. She sat neatly on the step, lightly running her finger over the small cross she had carved in the stone- it was hidden, inconsequential, it was like her own little secret shrine; she liked to think that Aidan would appreciate the gesture, wherever he was, if he was anywhere at all. Quincy neatly folded her hands on her knees when she heard footsteps, she had expected she would be alone at this hour...

Felix was busy scaring the living shit out of first years. He had the right, and no one would tell anyone otherwise. He was currently in his Animagus form, padding down the hallway as a sandy brown wolf. It was a good way to practice his ability while also having some selfish pleasure at the same time. Knowing full well how first years didn't know any better and wouldn't tell, he liked having a bit of fun. Growling, snarling, and howling at the poor kids was the most entertaining way of getting them back to bed, making sure they weren't going to be a nuisance to him ever again.
It was just a good way to clean up the hallways for when he wanted to sneak a pretty girl out for a good time in the Room of Requirement or an empty classroom. Sauntering down the hallway, Felix had a wolfish grin plastered onto his shiny muzzle. Like his natural self, his wolf form was exceptionally well-kept. His coat was clean, shiny, and soft. In short, it was perfect. Just as he was flawless as a human, he was flawless as a dangerous canine.
Felix turned a corner, stopping short. There was someone on the staircase. She was a fellow prefect, but she was stunning. There was a difference between sexy and drop-dead gorgeous. This girl was somehow both. She was neat and orderly, something he found immensely attractive. He stared up at her, unsure of what to do. Normally he was exceptionally suave. However, in his current state, he could mask his shock behind his furry face. Instead, Felix stood there, calculating his next move. He wanted this attractive girl in his bed, and he was going to make sure of that. He just wasn't sure how. The gleaming Ravenclaw badge on her robes might make her difficult to lay...

Quincy stopped her thoughts from wandering, she didn't like to dwell on Aidan more than she already did. Lately, she had more important things to do than to allow the past to weigh so heavily on her mind. Cruel as it may seem, Aidan didn't have a future, but she did. Sure, the guilt got to be, at times, unbearable, but she had things she had to do. She could not succumb entirely to grief. It might have taken her a year to realise the fact, but she was not going back to where she had been before. That simply was not an option anymore.
Quincy tried to think on the work that she had left behind in the commons, though she saw no reason that she would be able to focus on it here- when she hadn't been able to concentrate in her favourite chair by the fire. She really was hopeless, she was getting too far behind... Of course, Quincy's standards for "behind" were quite a bit different than those of her peers. All homework due within the next week was completed, and she had already read the sections in her textbooks that would be taught on in class tomorrow... Normally she had three or four days' worth ahead of the curriculum, just to be safe.
Blinking out of her thoughts, Quincy looked up when she heard a peculiar sound, recoiling mildly when her gaze landed upon a wolf. Attending a school for magic, one could see many peculiar things, but one of the last things she had expected was to see an animal. It was beautiful, graceful and majestic in appearance, a fine specimen, and it carried itself in a very... human sort of way. Once over the initial shock, Quincy figured that she had the pleasure of meeting an Animagus. Unsure of whether she should say anything, Quincy smiled softly.
